We use our own materials sterling silver which does not tarnish, is non-allergenic and has a unique white gold look finish; and 18ct gold which is a top gold alternative out there. All pieces are handcrafted to order - check current ETA here - and are made from a solid, strong and thick 1.2mm. When you are buying real turquoise, some of the things to look for are that the color is uniform throughout and the stone tends more towards being opaque than clear. Also, veins or splotches, which range from white to black, are usually a good indication of a genuine turquoise. Most importantly, be sure to buy from a reputable dealer and ask for written authentication of the value. Unfortunately, with all the enhancements to fake turquoise stones, it can be tricky to always tell the real thing from an imitation.
